Patzcuaro or Morelia Hotel recommendations please

If you are looking for a totally different hotel in Patzcuaro, I would recommend Eco-hotel Ixhi. We stayed there a couple of years ago in May- the nights really got cool but really warmed up nice in the day time. The hotel is about 3 blocks off the loop road. We thought we were lost when we were driving to it. Then about a block off the highway, the road turned to gravel and you were driving up a small hill. Then there was a small sign nailed to a tree that said Eco-hotel. When you go thru the gate there is a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains in the back ground. Because of being on the side of a high hill the view is open with the valley below. They had different type rooms. Some were just basic rooms and others were like small apartments. If you are in car, it is perfect for it was very quiet for the hotels around the squares can get a little noisy unless you have a room in back. We picked that hotel because they were having a problem of cars being broken into at night parked on the street. You can see the pictures guest took on Trip Adviser. We really enjoyed the guided tour of the villages around the lake visiting different artisans in their home/studios. We bought some very beautiful pieces of works in the little villages which we have on display in our home.
