Our home in Zihua is very open-air; only the bedrooms have screened windows. We left Zihua in mid-June, when the Chikingunya epidemic was raging. We use a combination of Deet on our bodies and burning raidolita coils. I say, take precautions but don't stay home. Life is too short to stay home in the snow when you could be living it up in Zihua. Just my opinion.
