Living in San Diego I know a lot of people who use dentists in both Tijuana and Algodones, dentistry is a big thing in both cities. I have had some work done in TJ myself. Also I have read about "dental tourism" in Puerto Vallarta. Was wondering if dentistry in Zihua is as developed? The thing is I need some major work involving multiple visits and with this covid thing (and the nature of my work) I can't be crossing back and forth, not to mention the need for a baby sitter when anesthesia is involved. I am already scheduled to spend January and February in Zihua, flight and lodging all lined up and paid for. As long as you guys let me in I'm coming Even with my insurance the cost to have the work done here makes my co-pay absurd!!!! So the question is; If I can endure a little pain until January will I find affordable, quality dental care in Zihuatanejo? Obviously specific recommendations for dentists would be greatly appreciated

Like you, we have had a lot of dental work done in Mexico, almost all of it very good.

We tried several of the other recommended dentists here and they were fine, but not like Elizabeth. My sweetie recently had to have a bunch of work done including a bone graft, right during the first month of the COVID stuff, and the measures taken for sanitation were impressive, bordering on the ridiculous.

We recommend Elizabeth and her consulting staff very very highly.

We don’t carry dental insurance any more because the cost of excellent dental work in Zihua is very reasonable. But several years ago, when we had USA insurance, I had work done by DRA ROCIO who filled out our claim form. Sent it in and our insurance company paid us a large part of the cost. So take a claim form with you - might work.

She's been my dentist for a number of years and has always done excellent work. She has a new office and speaks fluent English.

We used her 3 times and each time, turned our billing into our insurance and received payment. Most of her clients are American and Canadian. The last time we emailed her in the States and she got right back to us and told us to email her when we got to "Z". Emailed her that Sunday and was told to come in Monday morning for a checkup. I had to have a post installed for support for a lower partial. After seeing what needed to be done, said come back Friday morning. She did everything at 1 sitting- had to remove a dead tooth and install the post. We have been seeing her since she had a office down by the end of Peddlers Row- at that time her English was not as good as it is now.

We use DRA Judit Diaz Pimental located on Calle Adelente. Just before La Gula. Very good excellent English. I had a three tooth bridge made in about a week's time.

She can be emailed so you can let her know what you need to have done. When we first used her for dental work, she was the only oral surgeon in "Z". The afternoon of Kathie's appointment, she had been in surgery all afternoon because a dentist in the mountains broke a needle off in a small child's mouth. We thank a lot of her.

I am not a Republican. I may vote 90% Republican but will vote for a good Democrat I agree with for local offices- not State or Federal. Normally I go to UK Dentistry, if the procedure can wait will get it done in "Z" same as Kathie.

Over the past five years, I have had two crowns and some cavities filled by Dr. Oliverio Soberanis. He does excellent work. I have been completely satisfied.

I contacted Dr. Soberanis last autumn at the recommendation from several posters.

Had crowns done on two molars in December 2019. Dr. Soberanis uses the "new" crown material that contains no metal. He is meticulous, professional and his work is top notch. Fluent in English. Make sure to give yourself three-four weeks from the first appointment to the last. The lab he uses is in Guadalajara.

His fee was 25% of the quoted cost from my US dentist.
