As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,148 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (7 more than yesterday), 174 that have resulted in fatalities, 33 that are currently active, and approximately 1,802 that have recovered.

Still no definitive word on when we will receive our vaccinations. I suspect it won't be too much longer. The government is trying to disburse sufficient doses for the regions it is targeting. Folks here and in Acapulco are getting a bit anxious with Semana Santa coming up.

Mexico lost a favorite actress yesterday, Isela Vega who made the movie filmed in Zihuatanejo: Las Pirañas Aman en Cuaresma (1969). See if you recognize where this scene was filmed or if you see our dear deceased friend Doña Cari. ;-)

I am so happy you posted this photo. With the mask I can't know for sure, but I believe it is Felix whom is one of our favorite persons. A kind, gentle, very caring person who has made selling in Zihuatanejo his livelihood for many years. I was very worried about him. If I could...I'd buy every basket he's carrying.

Yes, that's Felix, the most pleasant man in Zihua. He walks miles and miles every day, always smiling. Our first purchase was a couple of fans at 20 pesos each, and we had a friend for life.
