As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,217 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (4 more than yesterday), 182 that have resulted in fatalities, 24 that are currently active, and approximately 1,870 that have recovered. La Unión is currently reporting 1 active case while Petatlán reports no active cases.

La Isla had to turn away tourists today due to high waves, so things got crowded at Playa Linda, and Las Gatas also had to turn away tourists due to overcrowding. Busload after busload arrived this morning carrying large families with lots of coolers, all heading for the beaches, many not wearing facemasks.

Today was a good day to stay home and enjoy pizza and cerveza for lunch while watching the Cruzan Mongoose walk around the coast of St. Croix barefoot. What an amazing endeavor!

Don't forget to set your old-fashioned clocks ahead one hour before going to bed tonight (Saturday night) as we switch to Hora de Verano in Zihuatanejo and most of Mexico.

The muelle municipal crowded during the midday sun with families of tourists going to Las Gatas and returning sunburned and worn out.
