As of today, since April 18, 2020 Zihuatanejo has registered a cumulative total of 2,425 confirmed cases of Covid-19 (same as yesterday), 193 that have resulted in fatalities, 11 that are currently active, and approximately 2,071 that have recovered. We appear to be doing extremely well.

All those explosions you heard early this evening were political campaigns celebrating their closing events. Elections are next Sunday.

When I awoke this morning I could smell the change in the air. The breeze was coming from the south bringing humid air with it, and even though there wasn't a cloud in the sky I could smell the rains getting closer. Sure enough the rain clouds moved in but it still hasn't rained yet. It ain't a rain till it washes the dust off our rooftop. ;-)

We were surprised to see so many buses here this weekend with the main road cut off from Morelia, but folks are still making the effort even if it takes a couple of hours more.

Folks enjoying the calm waters of Playa La Madera at sunrise.

I have flying bugs in my apartment for the first time in ages. They are attracted by the lights. Is this a sign of lluvia coming?

Could be. Keep your paraguas handy. ;-)
