Another night of delicious slow rain. My goodness, had to tuck my tootsies under the bedsheet during the wee hours it got so cool. This is the best sleeping weather!

It looks like we're going to continue receiving rain throughout the week. Stay alert for landslides and potholes on the roads. It won't be a good time for swimming, and frankly I believe warnings should be posted at the beaches to remind folks that the water may be unsanitary after heavy rains, though I grew up swimming in the Ohio River and survived. It's also a time when cocodrilos tend to wander. Something else to keep an eye out for. They don't respect stupid Blue Flag or "certification" rules. ;-)

There've been some earthquake swarms in Michoacán to the west of Uruapan, and I've seen speculation that it may be the growth of a new volcano.

The woods and hillsides are already showing signs of fresh green growth. The air smells more fragrant with plant growth and damp soil. The rainy season is my favorite time of year!

We also LOVE rainy season!

After not being able to ocean swim since Thursday morning, I broke down and used our lap pool today. SO glad we have it, and until we have at least 36 hours or so of no rain I won't consider ocean swimming. That's not just here, but anywhere.

No dog beach runs either, but they like the lap pool too.

Sure miss the ocean time though.....

Have you considered offshore ocean swimming? I’m sure you can arrange something with one of the local captains for a short tour outside the solitary rock to go for a swim just make sure they have a good boarding ladder. My Compadre captain Vidal and I will be fishing in Puerto Vincente Guerrero today through Thursday, but I’m sure he would be happy to set something up with you Over the weekend weather permitting. You could consider just a short tour for a swim or even a half day of small game fishing with some of your time used for swimming. Also if the water clarity at the Morros de Potosi is decent the snorkeling there can be pretty interesting. Let me know if you’re interested and I can put you in touch with Captain Vidal, or you could contact one of the captains recommended on Rob’s site.

We gave a boarding ladder to our favorite fishing guide: Guillermo Arciniega, owner of the Don William: 755-108-9380.

Good suggestions, thanks, but not really realistic for someone who swims daily and lives here!
