It's back..... Red Tide on la Ropa

This morning during our paddle we had patches of red tide in the center of Playa la Ropa. Most areas were decently clear, but there were definitely good sized red areas. The north and south ends of the beach were fine. No smell, foam or anything nasty.

I swam, when I first entered the water it was like swimming in chocolate milk, but very quickly it was back to green normal and I could see the bottom. The red was almost all well outside of the wave line.

At least the water is warm and hopefully the red tide will be gone in the morning.

Thanks for the update! I smelled it at the downtown beach this morning but I didn't see any brown patches. I'd heard of it being still present in the area recently up near La Saladita. It should dissipate as the water warms and currents pick up (at the moment we're near a large patch of stagnant water). Any day now the prevailing winds will change and our cool evenings and mornings will come to an end and the humidity will increase. :-( But the rains won't be far behind. :-)

¡Saludos!
