Open water swim group?

Hello-
We are heading down for an extended stay and would love to connect with other open water swimmers. Is there a local open water swim club that anyone knows of? I did an internet search but couldn’t find anything. It would be great to swim with some locals who know the area well.

At least in the bay, there is not. We all just do our own thing!
During our swims this morning, we saw one other person swimming. During the winter months, it's not uncommon to see up to 5 other people. You get to know them, some to just wiggle fingers at and others to meet later for drinks and/or dinner.
Exactly the same as those serious paddlers.

Every January, I believe it is the second Saturday in January there is the Sharkfest Swim at Troncones. It starts at Majahua and folks swim around the point to Hacienda Eden It is about a 1.1 mile open water swim, not timed just for fun. I participated
for 3 or 4 years, but Covid knocked me out of training regularly so I don't do it any more. It would be a fun event for you and put you in touch with other open water swimmers.
