Guerrero's health officials currently register 113 active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 11 in La Unión, 2 in Petatlán, 7 in Técpan, 338 in Acapulco, and 2,089 for the entire state.
After a thunderous but not too heavy overnight rain that began at 2AM and continued off and on until around 9AM or so, the temps dropped considerably, and I found myself sleeping with a sheet on top of me this morning. Hopefully we'll get some more cooling rains tonight.
Sea turtles continue NOT arriving to Playa Principal, and the few that do lay their eggs low on the beach barely above the waterline instead of in the high and dry part of the beach. I'm convinced the reason is because of the extremely too-bright lights along the Paseo del Pescador. No one in the ayuntamiento seems to care. They just keep pretending we're an ecologically friendly sustainable tourist destination, which we most definitely are not. Not even close. #PobrePueblo
I love recommending Casa Ki on the beach in Playa Troncones. This is pretty darn close to the perfect lodging, IMHO. The owners have done an excellent job planning and maintaining this lovely piece of paradise, and of course they just happen to be wonderful people.

While I certainly admire the artistic talent it took to create these fruity things all over town (they're supposed to represent summer), it sure seems like we're looking more and more like Disneyland (aka a plastic paradise) each day than Zihuatanejo. I half expect the artsy fruits to start singing and the palm trees to start swaying along in rhythm.
