Guerrero's health officials report there are currently 17 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 1 in La Unión, 1 in Petatlán, 1 in Técpan, 50 in Acapulco, and 222 in the entire state.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any warnings yet from the government for the possible hurricane expected to brush our coast next Monday. According to my crystal ball (and all the weather forecasts) We should see some rains this weekend, but Sunday night is when things might start to get interesting with strong gusting winds from the east then the south throughout Monday along with heavy rains. This one looks like it's going to hug the coast while it blows past, so get ready in case the winds down trees that cause the lights to go out.

The winds arrived a lot earlier than predicted. Speaking of predictions, as I predicted the ugly arch the city government built a few weeks ago on the street side of Plaza del Artista just blew to pieces. Luckily no was was hurt. And it’s just starting. Expect this to continue throughout the night. Downtown is already blanketed in sand from the beach.

Here on Playa la Ropa we have already had winds to 36 MPH, that's 60 KMH.

Hurricane Rick only recorded 48 MPH here.

We may get lucky. Tormenta Tropical Kay appears to have wobbled since yesterday. It’s taken a more westward turn instead of hugging the coast so much. We got a nice little gust earlier instead of later today. That may have made the difference.

Hoping for a peaceful night’s sleep.
