Guerrero's health officials report there are currently 9 confirmed active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, NO cases in La Unión, 1 in Petatlán, NO cases in Técpan, 39 in Acapulco, and 171 in the entire state.

Due to the presence of Tormenta Tropical Kay, the piers have been closed to boat traffic, Sunday evening's cultural events at the Cancha Municipal in Zihuatanejo have been cancelled as well as all public school classes for Monday, Sept. 5. It's been a blustery evening in Zihuatanejo, but the first round of gusts Sunday afternoon were the strongest so far.

The storm seems to have arrived sooner than expected, hopefully it will also be gone sooner. We haven't seen much rain at all. Hopefully whatever we get won't be torrential. Keep an eye on our local weather and stay safe!
