Kau Kan Restaurant
Interested in finding out about Kau Kan moving its location. The location with walkway to elevator down to restaurant were a key feature. The food and service have always been a so so from my perspective. Does anyone have anything to add about the new location?

Wow! Looks like they're now up/out on Punta Garrobo. Anyone been there at that location?
Yes I have been there twice. Food is great and the view is lovely. It is expensive. Have the clams, caesar salad, creamed spinach, and when you want to splurge have the cowboy steak, 800 pesos.

I don't eat steak, but I was curious so looked up prices on large steaks at a popular chain steakhouse in parts of Canada and US. Big rib steak is priced at $58 Cdn. near me, so that's comparable but no view and different atmosphere!

If you don't eat steak you shouldn't be quoting prices. I just now had a small tenderloin steak with all the trimmings at a local Greek restaurant in Burnaby BC. Cost was 35 CAD. Of course the booze, retsina and oozo, were a lot more than the steak, but that is another story.

Whether or not someone uses a product or service does not disqualify that person from quoting a factual price, especially when that person was only trying to help their Fellow Zihua Lovers.

Personally I don't feel the atmosphere or a view add to the enjoyment of a good steak......different strokes I guess..

Now that this thread has completely switched to talking about steaks, my fav spot for steaks in Zihua is Chez Leos in Centro. Their Rez Madagascar is supreme. Great steak in a wonderful mushroom red wine sauce. Can't recall the price but who cares. No bay view but you get to people watch. Great location.

The same steak in Tacoma is $78 at El Gaucho, roughly half price of Kau Kan.

With that fresh salmon you have why eat steak…. Hope you are well and keeping warm and dry!….. hopefully it’s stopped tainting for a bit there
