LAX Alaska

In past years we've always arrived at LAX from Santa Rosa and then on to Zihua. This time we're staying near LAX and wonder if we go to the international terminal or just the regular Alaska terminal for domestic? Thanks!
International. Be sure to tell the shuttle driver you are going to Mexico. First comes the domestic terminal, then, a fairly short distance more is the international departure.

Keep in mind the Alaska International is adjacent to the Alaska Domestic and not to be confused with Tom Bradley International. Inform the driver that you are flying Alaska International to Mexico.
I emphasize as 3 weeks ago someone on our LAX Alaska commented how they only shared International with the driver and they were left off at Tom Bradley International, not Alaska International. Forturnately they arrived super early to LAX.
All of Alaska’s flights depart from Terminal 6. Arrivals from Mexico go to Tom Bradley.

Timmac is correct. Departures are Terminal 6 (Alaska foreign and domestic). Arrivals from Mexico go for a 18 mile walk to get to Terminal 2 for US customs and then another 18 mile walk back to Terminal 6. Did I say 18? Maybe 1.8. Regardless, it is a total screwed up mess for a large international airport. LAX should be on the 10 worst airports in the US.
We live here and had to make a quick, 48 hour trip to the US to pick up new SUP's.
Aside from the culture shock, the other shock was the distance we had to walk in the international terminal at LAX with only one bathroom along the way, one drinking fountain, only to get our board bags and not be able to figure out how to get out of the fu..ing airport!
SO glad we don't live in the US any longer.

So did you base your decision on leaving the country because you simply didn't like the way the airport is setup in LA...pretty foolish no?
If not, maybe you should start another thread on topic discussing why you dislike the USA so people know instead of tossing out a meaningless, pointless jab at the end of your spewing.
I myself would like to relocate away from here for various reasons. But I wouldn't just toss out some crap like that, that has nothing to do with post.

BTW "Mosesk".......i have family out your way in Ojai.....beautiful area.
Uncle has an unbelievable place out that way. When he built his home years ago he made a documentary on it, believe it took like over a year or two to complete. After having the home nearly finished and all that work put into it they had a close call as the fires started racing up the canyon their way. Had to have all the workers available that day drop what they were doing and start spraying down the house and surrounding land.....CRAZY....luckily they were spared. Was in the 90's.
His closest "neighbors" way across the hills n valleys were the singer Sting and the late actor Larry Hagman from what I was told.

I know where Hagman's place was...now a Scientology retreat.
Was not aware Sting had a place...he used to like to go to the Yoga Retreat center outside Santa Barbara up the 154.
Lots of celebs hang in/around Ojai and try to be hoi polloi...

Like I said I'm not too sure of the Sting thing but I suppose it was accurate, Hagman for sure though.
Not sure who knows who in that area but would be funny if you knew my aunt and uncle. They are in their 90's now but still stay pretty active. Don't want to divulge too many specifics about them, but do the names George and Esther spark a match in Santa Paula/Ojai?
My uncle is originally from Mexico and my aunt is Mexican/Italian.

No sir, all I have in that department in outgoing and nothing incoming.
I've worked only one day since December 15th and "practicing for retirement" and actually feeling pretty damn good!!

Never going back there again! What an absolutely ridiculous excuse for a major international airport!

Yeah, I experienced that last year. What a mess. Happened to be slogging along with a couple of crew members, and they really hate it. On your feet for hours, then the long walk. And then stand in line, since the ratios is about one immigration agent per 747.
After now decades of dealing with TSA, CBP, ICE, etc., I believe this stuff is deliberate to discourage travel. Because other than providing a full employment program for dickheads, I can't think of any sane reason why travel--especially air travel--is so intentionally difficult.
I predict with a couple years, they will build a shortcut, and for a modest fee, a background check and a whole bunch your personal data, you can breeze past the riff-raff. Like TSA Precheck.

The U.S. already has what you predict. It's called Global Entry.
https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry
I have the SENTRI pass that is only good at the Canadian and Mexican land crossings. (Been wanting to applying for the Global Entry for when Central and South America beckon but just have not gotten around to it yet.) It's worth its weight in rhodium.
Or where you talking about Mexico creating something like the Global Entry Pass? They have the Viajero Confiable program.

My wife recently traveled by air and the line at Global Entry was longer than the other! And they keep on suggesting you should join. WTF?

Hmmm. That's a switch. Regarding the SENTRI pass, it will literally save you tons of wasted hours sitting in line to cross via your car or as a pedestrian here at the two San Diego/Tijuana border crossings. (I don't know about other U.S./Mexico border crossings nor what goes on between Canada and the U.S.) As you stroll past the hundreds and hundreds of folks standing in a two- or three-hour line, joyfully holding your SENTRI card in the air, they will snarl at you with looks that could kill at fifty paces. The border waits have gotten longer here. The U.S. and Mexico have increased the capacity of the infrastructure but the U.S. is still woefully short of CBP agents to staff the kiosks. It is a major drag on the economy of the region costing our area billions of dollars of lost productivity. There is a third entry that should open in 2024 or 2025 once again promising to reduce the wait time but personally, I fear it will meet the same fate as the promised reduction of time when the last upgrade to the facilities was made, insufficient staffing to utilize those resources. Sigh. Life at the busiest border crossing in the Western Hemisphere. Can't wait to visit Zihua again ...

What airport? When we cam back through LAX there were at least 20 stations. THere was no line and they used facial recognition. At most it took ten seconds.
