We are going to Las Gatas today.I have been before and know they have all those resturants.What is a good one?

We spend the day at Otilia's, at the far end. We like to snorkel on the bay side of the reef. If you go, say HI to Franco, the head waiter, from Sidney.

Looking for responses to a comment about the beach restaurants. This is not in any way meant to disparage the restaurants on the beaches. Although the ingredients are invariably very fresh, I find that the dishes are very formulaic. Rarely does one restaurant stand out above the others. The allure for me is the ability to sit at a table with my feet in the sand under a palapa and sip papaya licuados. And if they have hammocks, I am in heaven. The food is a far second.

We have eaten at practically all the restaurants there. We elimated those where we have heard boom boxes with loud music and gone further along where we have tranquility and a good filete de pescado - Otilia's.

Haven't been to Las Gatas for a few years. I have mobility issues and getting on and off of the decrepit docks and into and out of the pangas with a cane is not a lot of fun. But I still went down the end of the beach. Most people went to the first place they came to after getting off of the boat. Lots of kids in the water which was really stirred up and unclear. Always went to Otilias. Franco (Mr peachy keen) the server was great. Good food and drink. Clear water. Nice to pull the chair into the water and sit there with my butt in the water enjoying my drink.

Thank you for all the suggestions.We went to a resturant almost at the end of the beach and it was excellent and the water was not so congested with boats and people.It reminds me of the south pacific and the wadter is so clear you can see the color of your nail polish on your toes.It is a gem.
