Now the mayor is boasting in the media today of 3 skyscraper towers to be built at Playa Manzanillo with 1,200 guest rooms, though of course he keeps saying "in the area of Playa Riscalillo" so as not to give away their true intent of privatizing and essentially destroying Playa Manzanillo, a virgin beach with a fragile marine ecosystem that locals have worked hard to preserve over the decades. So the whole bit about only building 300 bungalows was just another lie.
