Health officials for the state of Guerrero confirm 4 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 1 in Petatlán, 1 in Atoyac, 1 in Benito Juárez, 66 in Acapulco, and 139 in the entire state.

I almost hate to say that our weather remains absolutely picture-postcard perfect. Yet another day of sheer bliss in our exquisitely comfortable tropical paradise. All our visitors are certainly getting their money's worth, especially folks from places with snow on the ground.

While there have been reports from reliable sources of patches of red tide, at the downtown beach we haven't seen any signs of it, and I thought the breeze off the bay smelled absolutely lovely, as good as it gets. But the water continues cooling, now down to 26.7°C. Brrrrrr! Too cold for me! I'll wait until May when it warms back up to take a swim.

Not a word from the local government on any measures it's taking to increase public safety, only more news items about new concrete streets and walkways without a word on how much each project costs as if it didn't matter. And the local press certainly doesn't bother to ask.

[image]Come discover some of the amazing flora and fauna that inhabit our region at the extremely fascinating wildlife refuge called El Refugio de Potosí. Located on the road to Barra de Potosí, this center for wildlife conservation and environmental education features a fully reconstructed sperm whale skeleton (the only one in Mexico), an observation tower, a wheelchair accessible footpath for observing local flora and fauna, and a butterfly pavilion.
