Guerrero's state health officials report NO currently active cases of Covid-19 along the entire Costa Grande of Guerrero, 54 in Acapulco, and 145 in the entire state.

Somebody finally noticed that you all aren't taking as many taxis as you used to, and it made news today in our local media. Locals aren't using them as much anymore either. But taxi drivers won't drop their prices to try to recover lost business. Instead, they'll push for more rate hikes. Our local economy defies the laws of economics. When demand goes up, prices go up. When demand drops, prices still go up.

It gets bright and warm a little earlier each day. I'm liking not having had to go through the ol' Horario de Verano adjustment this year. I've even gotten used to watching Stephen Colbert at 9:30 P.M. our time. The sun is up early and so are we while there's still a bit of overnight coolness in the air. The days are starting to get a bit warmer, but the humidity is still relatively low so it doesn't seem so hot. But smoke is in the air, and it will continue to increase along with the heat and humidity and a stillness in the air like a fever until the first heavy rains fall, then it's like the fever breaks.
