All hell is about to break loose all over Mexico as Semana Santa vacations get underway and the mostly city folks hit the roads to bring their raucous lifestyle to our shores, boomboxes and all. Having spent most of my life here, I'm used to it. It's the same in most tourist resorts. There are always times of the year when the mobs take over and things get crazy. You just gotta hunker down and get through it. It'll be over before ya know it. The first week is usually the worst. Busloads and busloads and lots of trash and noise and broken things. The second week usually sees a different class of tourists, and they are generally better behaved. Hope you've gotten your banking done and are stocked up on goodies so you don't need to go to the big box supermarkets. Expect ATMs to run out of cash quickly this coming week.
Folks here were enjoying the calm before the storm here in downtown Zihuatanejo. Hardly anyone out'n'about. The walkways were mostly empty this Thursday during our morning and evening strolls even though it looked like there was a wedding going on at Tata's with DJ Doro doing his thing. It was mostly a peaceful day to be savored.
This amazing vacation rental is the stuff dreams are made of. Casa Las Tejas is a luxurious 4BR villa on the beach at Playa Manzanillo in Troncones. Open-air living and dining rooms. Bedrooms all open onto a terrace facing the ocean. A large palapa relaxation area fronts the beachfront pool. Very nice!
