State health officials for Guerrero confirm 9 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 2 in Técpan, 1 in Atoyác, 1 in Coyuca de Benítez, 65 in Acapulco, and 179 for the entire state.

The pier looks like it will be taken over soon by a gastronomic event this Friday and Saturday at 5PM called "Guerrero Culinario" ($100 entrance fee) that will have stalls of people sharing or selling their food representing all of Guerrero running the entire length of the pier. Once again, it is expected to be an extremely busy long weekend, yet someone thought holding a "special event" on the pier was a good idea. And they're also already setting up the stage and effects for the musical group Los Miranda a week before the event. Looks like terrible planning by the ayuntamiento. We seem to be seeing a lot of this in recent years. There's a reason it's called a PIER and not a SALON DE EVENTOS.

Still no heat wave or muggy weather yet. Yes, it gets bright, sunny and fairly warm early, and the tropical midday sun can be brutal, but the sun is now beginning to shine on the northern side of buildings including our home. Changes the whole dynamic, and our bedrooms on the southern side of our home remain quite comfortable for sleeping with just a fan on low speed.

Still some mar de fondo waves hitting the coast. Makes for great sleeping sounds at night.

Centrally located on the small hill at La Madera a short walk to the beach is Casa Linda. A lovely house with 3 apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts. All with full kitchens, living area, balconies, and shared access to a garden with BBQ facilities as well as the rooftop terrace with views of the bay.
