Guerrero's state health officials confirm 10 currently active cases of Covid-19 in Zihuatanejo, 3 in Técpan, 2 in Atoyac, 1 in Benito Juárez, 1 in Coyuca de Benítez, 89 in Acapulco, and 212 in the entire state.

¡Feliz Día del Niño! While this is a bit of a sad day in my family, for millions of families across Mexico it's a day of great joy and celebration. Mexico cherishes its children, and this day is always one of much celebration. Zihuatanejo is currently full of families on vacation for the long weekend, and there are children everywhere here smiling, laughing, playing and enjoying themselves today as children everywhere should be able to do.

I hope you got to enjoy the dancers at the Cancha Municipal Sunday evening. We saw many of them dressed up and waiting to put on their performance. Looked like it was going to be a truly beautiful event.

Every single day I feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico. Partly just for having lived here most of my life, but mostly for having the love of an incredible and most fascinating woman who never ceases to amaze and surprise me. I fall in love with her several times each day, day after day, more and more. Remember that this Monday morning there will be a parade in downtown Zihuatanejo starting at 9AM to commemorate Día de los Trabajadores. So streets will be closed along the parade route from Cinco de Mayo to Juan N. Álvarez to Avenida Benito Juárez to the intersection with Avenida Morelos where it ends at the Centro Social (near the corner of Morelos and Calle Vicente Guerrero).
