¡Muchas felicidades a las enfermeras mexicanas en hoy su día!
Unfortunately the "rehabilitation" of our Hospital General is on hold after only about 15% of the work at most has been done. Let's hope this project gets back on track.
Man, what a difference a little rain made! The water temp remains warm but this Friday didn't seem as suffocatingly hot as previous days had been, thanks to the rain and the cloudy morning. The sun eventually came out and dried things up, and the mar de fondo calmed down, and the water taxis were able to run so that folks could enjoy Playa Las Gatas. Quite a few visitors showed up this Friday, mostly day-trippers on buses. But they sure looked happy to be here, and that always makes me feel good.

This is what the sky looked like late Thursday evening. Hardly anyone thought it would actually rain, not even some fishermen. We're used to Tlaloc teasing us... But Lupita brought in the clothes that were hanging out to dry on our azotea JUST IN CASE...
I awoke to the sound of rain around 2AM. The lights were fluttering off and on and then finally off, so I got up and disconnected el refri and grabbed an abanico that I used to keep Lupita and myself cool with until the lights finally came back on for good about an hour later. Fortunately the temp also dropped about 5°C by then.
This is what things looked like this Friday morning from our privileged perch overlooking the downtown beach.
