Tuesday evening's nice easy rain got a bit bigger after I signed off. For a while there it was breezy with torrential rains, but fortunately not so long that there was any major flooding or damage in Zihuatanejo or the region, that I'm aware of. Turned out Huracán Jova blew us a kiss before setting off on a northwesterly trajectory away from us. I imagine the waves from the storm will last for another day or so. The rain was certainly welcome.

This morning there were 7 or 8 sets of turtle tracks on the beach. A shame we can't know if it was the Marina or poachers who took the eggs. It'd be nice if they kept a tally sheet so interested persons could compare the number of tracks with the number of nests we see dug up. Many of the tracks were obviously by turtles disoriented by the lights who seemed to wander randomly on the beach bumping off the cement walkway and cement posts like on a pinball machine. A shame to see them have to endure this thanks to the negligence and indifference of Zihuatanejo's municipal government. It's even sadder to see their hatchlings also suffer disorientation from the lights and end up crushed on the Paseo del Pescador, one of its plazas or the street. Last season we even found one in our home!

Wednesday turned out to be just another beautiful sunny day in paradise. Don't know how we stand so much perfect weather. Rough life!
