Amazingly, still no "official results" available from the government on the shark attack that it continues attributing to a crocodile. They promised results by Monday, but Monday and now Tuesday have come and gone.

Coincidentally, a large group of divers are in town to get their certification. So glad they picked our location! Hopefully they'll be back with friends and family!

There have been some isolated light rains around the region. So far nothing here in downtown Zihuatanejo, but rain clouds have been visibly present since last evening.

This Tuesday started off with a nice breeze coming in off the ocean that lasted much of the day. The weather has continued to be absolutely picture-postcard perfect. Visitors continue getting at least their money's worth if not more.

The tragic murder of 3 beloved and popular local musicians on the coastal highway near Pantla has the community quite upset. The local and state governments have made a big show out of all the additional public security they've supposedly put in place for the holiday season including on our highways, but all it takes is one incident like this to reveal the futility of their actions. We all need to be vigilant and be responsible for our own safety, as much as that's possible. Let's hope their killers are caught and punished.

Visitors continue arriving, and downtown Zihuatanejo keeps getting more crowded. It's good to see the crowds, and sales have been decent for many local shopkeepers and restaurants as well as for tour guides and charters. Two more weeks of this should help the local economy quite a bit.
