Since supposedly the payments for predial start on Dec 20, we always try to get in on the 22nd of the month to get it over with.

Today we spent the least time ever paying our property taxes, and were in and out in just a couple of minutes.

We did, however, notice that with our normal INAPAM discount, the fees had increased a bit over 2000 pesos. Foreign credit cards are welcome. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and fast.

The taxes are still significantly lower than anywhere we have ever had to pay them, but be warned that they have gone up significantly.

Maybe to pay for concrete?

Still LOVE Zihuatanejo!!!!

Wondering?

How do you get an INPAM discount on your taxes with your property being held in the name of a trust?

If you are residents, either permanent or temporary, you can get an INAPAM card.

Correct

But I have been told that if your property is in the name of a trust that you cannot get the discount. Even if you are a permanent resident with an IMPAM card?

So is this true or false?

It must be false
Because my condo is owned by my trust and I get the INAPAM discount

Our INAPAM cards didn't qualify us for a discount when we owned/lived in Zihuatanejo. We were told the value of the condo was too high to get the discount. $200,000 USD. The early pay discount was about 40% before IVA, etc.

We got our inalámbrico card in Lazaro Cardenas because we have a house in Michoacán, we were. Told by the tax people no we don’t give discounts,, we also have a house in Ixtapa and for a couple years got the discount them we were told that we had to get a Inapam card for Guerreo to get the discount. I thought they were a. Federal program but I have yet to get one for Guerrero.

I believe something may have gotten lost in translation there. INAPAM is a federal program. There isn't one for Guerrero. But perhaps your registered address has something to do with it.

We were told this by some people too. I have a feeling our condo would fall into that category. It sounds like if they have a plausible excuse for foreigners, they might use it!

Our freestanding house would definitely fall into that category, but does not.

We got our INAPAM cards issued in Nayarit five years ago. They always take them with out question, and did again yesterday.

Any reason you don't pay online?
We did it this year as well as last year, worked fine.

We were unsure of being able to get the INAPAM discount. Did it work for you?

I can't benefit from INAPAM, yet.... Too young ;-)
But our downstairs neighbor does. If you showed your INAPAM card this year, they should have it on file for next year.

You would think so. However every year they ask me to hand it to them, look it over, then enter the discount. Considering the discount is 50%, we don't want to do it on line and chance losing it. In December it's so easy to go in and pay.
