My wife is trying to improve her Spanish (basic).

SpanishPlus/EnglishPlus is a language institute right downtown above Daniel's Restaurant. Diego is an excellent, patient Spanish instructor. Also, have you heard of Pimsleur.com? Superior language learning tool but expensive. Duolingo.com is not bad and it has a free version.

Du hast dein Deutsch vergessen. Ich auch. Ich lebe seit 64 Jahren in den Vereinigten Staten. Mein Englisch ist viel besser.

That is what I loved about studying German a million years ago. I was so easy to read. But it was impossible to speak and understand the vocalizations. You are hearing all the nouns and prepositional phrases but the verb doesn't come until the end of the sentence so you don't know what is happening. By the time you get to the verb, you forgot all the objects.

When and if you next listen to Yoda in Star Wars, you can tell his native language was similar to German. He always puts the verbs at the end of his sentences.

I wish I would have studied Spanish in school. No matter. Por fin, ahora puedo hablar espanol muy bien ... como un pato!

What means that does?

Arrived in Downtown Zihuatanejo this morning after flying in from Frankfurt via Cancún and Mexico City first impressions it does look very nice - two questions - can you walk to La Ropa beach from the town and secondly we passed over some stunning countryside inland from the coast - anybody recommend any areas and how to get there, preferably without paying 1000-1500 MXN per hour for a private tour

from what I have heard, you might actually need an 'introduction' to visit some of those inland areas...

You can walk to La Ropa beach but it's a bit of a hike. Taxis are not expensive.

Grumpy, is Juan Carlos the husband of the woman who runs Adelita's Restaurant in La Ropa? I went on one of his tours to the new ruins in 2016. Excellent adventure!
