Anyone playing golf at the Real Palma? How are the conditions and green fees plus cart and rental clubs?
Skiing and golf in Northern Nevada all good. Arnold Palmer course in Dayton brown but in good shape.

Palma Real. Yes, people play there , but fewer than before due to the price increase. Walkin price of 2500MXP. Rental clubs are either 600 or 800MXP.
The course is probably in the best shape it's been in years, but it still needs to continue getting better. Several people have moved to the Marina course. It's in horrible shape but you can play for way less. Not sure if they have rental clubs or not.

Thx for the update. Maybe Palma Real comes to there senses someday and let people enjoy golf again in Ixtapa.

We are 4 visitors here now who always played Palma 3 times per week in the past many years. No clubs with us this year. The price is way too high, for the quality of the course and experience. The rental clubs are awful BTW. I have heard the concept is to attract ‘nationals’ year round; but at the expense of tourism during this season, I don’t get it. Other friends are visiting PV etc rather than staying and playing golf here. I’m also sad for our regular caddie/friend and the others who will also lose out.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the management read Robs page. Im thinking it wouldn’t make a difference to them that people have these valid issues with their course. What a shame. It is a great property and if it was kept up and had carts and rental clubs in normal shape as golf course standards, then we would take a second look.
Now one notch better than the Marina course is really sad.
They need to take the RTJ off all advertising and call it what it is.
Cow pasture, over priced, miniature golf rental clubs with carts that will pull you right into the crocodile ponds.
So sad that people have to play Marina just for cheaper rates.
Maybe if enough of us keep the fire going on this topic, they might read some of these posts.

Thanks for your reply Steve. Ah yes, the carts pulling you towards the crocs. ???? Lots of great memories. We used to rent a house on the course, and one year then President Peña Nieto came to play. For 2 weeks before hundreds of workers were chopping and planting and painting everything in site. They even put sand in the bunkers. We watched as he rinsed his tee shot on #6, and thanked him for coming to play our course! Then, it all went back down hill again. As an RTJ course, it certainly still has potential, but will never again compete with the Cabo and Playa del Carmen luxury resorts and courses, IMO. A crying shame for sure.

It's a great business model. You double the rates and get less than half the play. The caddies have no work and people with enough disposable income to play golf and go out to nice restaurants at night can go elsewhere in the future.

Any latest updates on golf in Ixtapa? How’s the courses looking and rates?
Just wondering if management has come back to reality and lower the rates and take better care of the courses and carts.

How’s the two courses looking in Ixtapa? Has the Palma Real come to their senses yet and lowered their rates with the conditions of carts, clubs and track?
Just curious.
