Just heard of a severe case of degree fever. Has anyone heard of the risk being higher than usual.?Also , do locals URS mosquito repellent all the time or only certain times of year, certain times of day, or in certain environments?

According to reports, it is a low year for dengue, at least so far.

IF you consider us locals, 6+ years here, we only use bug spray if it's really bad on the beach, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. That's it. We go through abut a bottle of spray every 3 years.

We also take two garlic capsules (Similares) night and morning. Makes a huge difference.

As I mentioned in response to "victorio" above, There are very few cases of dengue in our part of Guerrero. Most cases are in Acapulco.

My wife and I almost never use mosquito repellent.

Sadly, the mosquitos adore me. I keep repellent vendors gainfully employed. And I eat a clove of raw garlic almost every day. Doesn't seem to help.
