So happy to be returning to Zihua this week! 28th time—how about that?
Rob, do you still prefer we don’t tip?
I’m mostly wondering about taxi from airport.
Also, wondering if there is a cooking class available.
Thanks in advance, Joanna

Hola JoAnna. Local custom is we don't tip local taxis unless they do something extra besides not getting us killed in traffic. Helping with luggage or groceries. Even opening the door can merit a tip. The airport taxis are a separate taxi service, and since they already charge double or more than a local taxi, a tip hardly seems necessary, but again, if they provide an additional service besides not driving like madmen then a tip may be warranted.

Mónica Durán offers excellent cooking classes from her kitchen in La Madera. Send her an e-mail or give her a call. She's a wonderful person from whom I'm sure you'll enjoy learning.

She is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I have taken many friends to her classes. If you have time take more than one...
