MúZIHca Nocturna
Get your tickets ASAP for the fundraiser for the Sociedad Protectora de Animales de Zihuatanejo (SPAZ) next Wednesday evening at 6PM at the Orient Bay Restaurant (the former Bay Club)! This is a very worthy cause for some very hardworking people trying to do a monumental job of keeping animals from suffering and bringing furry love to people's lives. Tickets are available at Casa Marina next to the Cancha Municipal on the downtown waterfront. Hope to see you there! (Click on the poster to enlarge it.)
Since Thursday morning our coast has been receiving 1.2-to-2 meter waves from a mar de fondo event. I sure noticed it last night. Made for great sleeping sounds. The water temp has fallen below 28°C to 27.9°C, just about too cold to swim in for locals. Nice balmy breezes and barely a cloud in the sky. Picture-postcard-perfect weather!
A shootout near Barra de Potosí between heavily armed criminals and Mexican security forces this Friday resulted in the capture of 3 criminals. Three cheers for the good guys!!! Too bad municipal police didn't even show up to a shooting early Thursday afternoon just meters from their headquarters until an hour later. WTF!? Right? That's why I say: ¡QUEREMOS MÁS SEGURIDAD PÚBLICA, NO MÁS CEMENTO PINTADO!
The Paseo del Pescador wasn't very busy this Friday night, but several of the restaurants were full mostly of foreigners. Most of the Mexicans, locals and visitors, were either at la Cancha Municipal or la Plaza del Artista. The danzón dancers at Plaza del Artista each Friday evening are lovely to watch, and you are welcome to join in. Come join in the fun!
