Coastal dwellers and denizens enjoyed another absolutely picture-postcard-perfect day if they were anywhere in our region. While the heat picked up away from the coast, anywhere in the shade near the waterfront was the perfect place to be. Skies were mostly clear, but as fires continue burning around the region, each day the sky looks a little smokier. So far it hasn't been bad for us at all. The cool ocean breeze has been our saving grace.

We're back to bedsheet-optional nights and showers that don't need hot water. In another month there will be no breeze but instead increasing heat and humidity. Hopefully the sky won't be full of smoke, but being an election year when land invasions are common, I would expect more local fires than ever as local politicians and political parties seek any additional blocs of voters. They themselves often foment land invasions to try to benefit from. No one will try to stop them or remove them. This is how we lost most of our hillsides that were once our ecological zones.

While there have been some patches of marea roja, so far it just doesn't seem like it's going to be a major event. It seems to have largely dissipated, at least what I can see in our bay. Keeping fingers crossed.

:heartonfire: Not a day goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars to wake up in this tropical paradise beside the love of my life, mi sirena dorada who every single day makes me the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.
