Is there a doctor who provides injections of corticosteroids in the lumbar (lower) spine in Zihua or Ixtapa? As we age and are active or not degenerative disk disease (triple D) may occur, and may have mild or moderate disk bulge. These injections relieve pain. Thank you for your assistance in this request.

I am interested in seeing if someone knows about this service as well. I am not in town now but if nothing is located before I return, I will be doing some investigating as well. I would start at Clínica Mediciel, list on this website. Go to them and ask them. I know that over 4 injections per year is a bad idea (you probably already know that). In the USA, only Anesthesiologist can administer or at least that is what I have been told and experienced. That may not mean anything in Mexico. I know Zihuatanejo has an Anesthesiologist as I have met him in the past. I can not remember his name but he has a really nice bicycle. Good Luck. Hope to see some info posted.

There are at least two more, our friend used the bicycle guy, and I have had oral surgery with two different ones, for generals.

Ah, corticosteroids, the closest thing to a "wonder drug" we have.
On the adverse side, as a kid I always wondered why funnyman Jerry Lewis' face had swollen to the size of a pumpkin.
File under Cushing syndrome (that results from overconsumption.) Careful with
chronic use.

Oral steroids are a much different animal than epidural steroids. Cushingoid symptoms would be very unusual with epidural steroids. In addition to anesthsiologists, physiatrists administer them in the states.
