The weekenders continue arriving and breathing a bit of life into our tourism-addicted economy. This is the time of year when we most appreciate and depend on them. Fortunately for them our weather continues to be picture-postcard-perfect with clear skies and ocean temperatures that continue warming, currently from 27°C to 28°C in Zihuatanejo's bay and along the coast. The large waves have subsided and the water is crystal clear, though not for much longer. The dredging of Laguna Las Salinas will soon ruin the beaches in Zihuatanejo's bay, and the rains will soon muddy up the coastline. The first rains are always the worst for all the garbage that washes down from the hillsides, more every year, and with all the newly paved streets on the hills, the flooding will also be worse than ever for downtown residents.

For the past few days there's been no need to sleep under the sheets, but if the forecast is accurate we'll have a few more relatively refreshing evenings and early mornings for the next few days with temps in the low 20s. Keeping fingers crossed.

First some young folkloric dancers practiced outside my window late this afternoon before making the rounds of the waterfront restaurants dancing for tips (they deserve them, they're good!), then the regular elderly couples showed up and danced to their danzón music for a couple of hours. I love our culture!

:redheart: Lots of smiling faces along the waterfront this early evening as families strolled about, including visitors returning from Playa Las Gatas. It's always a joy to be among so many happy people. Especially with the love of my life for the past 35 years! Every single day she makes me feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico!

[image]Surf's been up lately, and if there's anyplace around to catch a wave it's in front of the Inn at Manzanillo Bay, one of the region's nicest and best located lodgings, even if you aren't a surfer. Escape stressful crowds and enjoy the laid-back environment at this luxury inn located on the beach at Playa Manzanillo with 10 individual air-conditioned bungalow suites in a serene tropical setting around a pool and an excellent restaurant.

Turistas divirtiéndose en Playa Principal durante el mediodía en la bahía de Zihuatanejo. Qué lástima que el gobierno municipal actual cortó tantos árboles que solían dar mucha más sombra en esta playa.

We must've just missed you. We got there as they were finishing up before hitting the restaurants.

Did you all start a fire with your hot lovin? Where'd all this smoke come from? ;-)
