I learned that this Morena party was only about 13 years old.
But it doesn't back off on the thing it promises to do in the campaign like you see in American politics, the Mephistophelian post-election compromise that drives things back to 49/49. AMLO actually increased minimum wage and did the things to help "the average citizen" that he promised during elections, says the narrator at 3:50.
Hope and Change got Obama to 83% approval but after getting elected and letting go of all those things as a result of "serving the donors" like every President in the USA it turned into 49/49. Same old gridlock. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, as the Who would put it. Well, people will disagree with some of this but I have to agree American Presidents sure seem to be full of crappe when it comes to fulfilling campaign promises. Build a party (from scratch if necessary) and kick ass and don't compromise and you can enjoy the landslide results that Sheinbaum experienced. 49/49 does not have to be the way of the future.

Easier said than done. In the case of Obama, his major campaign promise was to fix health care. The Democrats delivered a watered down version of health care reform which was based on none other than the reforms initiated by then Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in 2006. The Democrats were subsequently slaughtered in the 2010 elections.
It is an understatement to say that the current political system in the United States is broken. It is a disaster and may give way to an authoritarian system that will make it a democracy in name only, similar to Russia or Hungary. We must remember that in a democracy, the government is a reflection of the people. At this moment in time, it ain't a pretty sight.
All of us UnitedStaters need to vote this November as if our government and our lives depend on it.
Most empires have lasted 250 years. The US empire is 248 years old. Time to go?
The only serious candidates were women, not really a surprise for us in Mexico since achieving gender parity in politics has been the trend here for the last few elections.
A dynasty continues...
