Friday evening I saw thunderstorms dancing along the horizon most of the night, passing us by without a drop of rain for Zihuatanejo, though in Pantla the lightning caused their electricity to go out for several hours during the wee hours. Hopefully we'll see some rain soon as onda tropical #20 passes by in the coming days.

The bus tourists arrived at dawn this Saturday. It was wonderful to watch as a huge family discovered the beach and they just had to go get their feet wet even with their traveling clothes on. I love watching the reaction on the faces of people who rarely if ever get to see the ocean as they arrive and take in the sight of our lovely bay. I guess they eventually made their way to Playa Las Gatas for the day, though there were some who made camp at Playa principal for the day, some with their pets, all relaxing and enjoying themselves apparently without a care in the world. That's what vacations in Zihuatanejo are supposed to be about!

Saturday evenings in Plaza del Artista several painters exhibit their works. I hope more people will come check it out. Sometimes a musician sets up nearby, and it becomes a nice artsy but low-key festive atmosphere. Often there are folkloric dancers who also put on a show and pass the hat. Some people enjoy themselves just sitting and watching everyone else.
