The rain Sunday evening was refreshing, but it didn't last very long. Monday morning a storm blew up along the coast and came our way from the southeast. It was pretty cool watching it grow and grow into this huge dark gray monster. But again, the rain was very little and too brief, though it started back up a couple of times, and currently it's raining rather lightly. Barely enough to cause puddles. But every bit helps, and it looks like more is on the way. Gonna be delicious sleeping weather as long as the wind doesn't pick up.
Tourists were few and far between downtown and along Playa Principal. More and more businesses don't even bother opening. Hopes are high for the coming long weekend when we celebrate Día de la Independencia Mexicana. I expect there'll simply be a lot of noisy drunks with fireworks and guns. Hope no one gets hurt.
La Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe turned 70 years old on September 8th. I forgot to announce it here. My wife's mother, doña Rosa Farias, was the driving force behind getting the church built. It will always hold a special place in our family.
