One beautiful day after another! Yes, Thursday was a bit warm and humid, but that's what cold drinks, hamacas, the shade and the ocean are for. By the time the sun set there wasn't a wisp of breeze, and heat continued radiating from the cement. It was an adventure walking the jam-packed Paseo del Pescador as darkness fell to enjoy the Halloween crowd. Has anyone noticed that this is NIGHT #2 of kids dressing up and jalowineando?

They continue finding bodies in Técpan down the Costa Grande past Petatlán. The police say about half of the armed group that attacked the town is still on the loose, and traffic was stopped for a while this morning while the military pursued some of them from the jungle on one side of the highway to a huerta de cocos on the other. Worrisome.

There were two earthquakes less than an hour apart just off the coast of Petatlán this evening. The first a 4.2 at 6:36 P.M. and the second a 4.8 at 7:25 P.M. We should be wary of more soon, possibly stronger. Also worrisome. Oh, it's happening now while I write this! No idea of the strength yet. Felt it, though.

The Halloween party this evening along the waterfront was much fun! We made it back to our home just in time to watch the parade of colorfully lit pangas cruise by just off the beach while the mayor participated in a ceremony at an altar dedicated to the fishermen lost at sea in front of Plaza del Artista.
