At least some visitors showed up today to enjoy our absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather. And they certainly got their money's worth. Another refreshing night for sleeping and another day of sunny skies and light breezes. It does NOT get old! I love every second of it! Especially waking up and sharing the day with my absolute saint of a wife!

After a slow week, local shop owners enjoyed some sales today. Thank goodness for our visitors from the cold north. Their purchases help keep locals in business. You are very much appreciated!

It looked like there was a big fire at Las Gatas this evening. Not sure what burned. I hope it wasn't what's left of Owen's place.

We didn't hear a single skyrocket this Friday evening in downtown Zihuatanejo. YAY!!! Only six more days.

On this day in 1810 Miguel Hidalgo decreed slavery abolished in Mexico. Of course that eventually provoked the USA to steal Texas and other western states, but that's a story for another day.

Don't forget to visit the Eco-Tianguis Sanka on Saturday morning from 9 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. They have all kinds of fresh produce, homemade tamales, fresh locally grown coffee, all kinds of juices and health drinks, and a wide variety of handcrafted goods. And they also usually have good music and informative presentations.

We only heard one cajuete Friday evening. YAY! Went swimming in La Madera - the water is getting colder! Still lovely, just not bath water anymore!

Hurray! Arriving the morning of the 12th just in time to partake of the evening festivities at the church by Plaza Kioto. Siempre divertida!

The night of the 11th is when you'll want to be watching one of the Televisa channels of the coverage of the pilgrimage at La Basílica de Guadalupe where many of Mexico most talented singers pay their respects. It's an evening of beautiful music and a bit of old Mexican magic. An old tradition for many Mexican families. If your cable or satellite TV doesn't have Televisa, I believe you can find it on YouTube.
