Okay, I'm not the earliest riser, but sunrise was still about a half hour away when I woke up and looked out my window and saw SEVERAL people swimming, or rather mostly floating and standing, in the water right off the downtown beach. Yes, the water is at that *perfect* temperature, to be sure, but man, it was COLD out this morning. Must've been around 19°C when I took my dog out for a walk. BRRRRR! But fortunately for us, there's still no snow in our local forecast. I checked. What a relief.

However, after hardly seeing a cloud all day, this evening it clouded up, and some weather is currently blowing over us giving the appearance that it might rain even though there's zero probability in the forecast. But the scudding clouds look ominous nonetheless.

There are quite a few extranjeros in town. Not sure if they outnumber national tourists, but the numbers look good. Merchants continue to say they are mostly Canadians, pero no me consta, though the accents we hear during our walks about town would seem to confirm it.

If you're driving around, be aware that there are some terrible potholes in the roads to Zihuatanejo from both Lázaro Cárdenas and Acapulco, and they continue causing terrible accidents and deaths.

We had TWO earthquakes in Zihuatanejo yesterday. A 4.0 in the morning and a 4.1 late last night. I didn't feel either one, and that's just fine and dandy with me. It's better that we have many little ones instead of any big ones.

[image]One of the nicer more affordable vacation rentals in La Madera neighborhood is Casa Linda located atop the small hill at La Madera with views of the bay and town. Three apartments that can be rented all together or individually, each beautifully decorated with Mexican handcrafts. One with two en-suite bedrooms and two with one bedroom each as well as a sofa or pull out bed. All with full kitchens, living area, balconies, and shared access to a garden with BBQ facilities as well as the rooftop terrace.
