Zihuatanejenses woke up to a nipper morning this Wednesday. I almost wore long sleeves to take my dog for a walk. I imagined I could see my breath. It may have dipped down to 19°C this morning. But the ocean is still a rather perfect 27.5°C. Once it dips below 27° we consider it cold. There were people swimming well before sunrise, while plenty of others were out walking and jogging. But there weren't a lot of tourists around today.
However, Daniel's has certainly been crowded each evening this week. The place has lots of good vibes, good music and hard-working restaurant people. It's also the location where my beloved saint of a wife was born, literally right on the beach. What halcyon days those were for many of Zihuatanejo's residents.
This Thursday is jueves pozolero. While there are many good places to get pozole, my favorite will always be El Profe in Coacoyul. It's the only meal they serve on the only day of the week they're open. Part of the wonderful and varied culture of the state of Guerrero. There's no snow in the forecast so it shouldn't be a problem getting there or anywhere else to enjoy pozole.
