Gozando de los Placeres SenZIHllos
Not quite so cool this Saturday morning, but still we enjoyed a refreshing morning that once again turned into a picture-postcard-perfect day. The ocean is at its perfect temperature in our region of the Pacific, and it is indeed very pacific with hardly a wave in Zihuatanejo's bay. Beachgoers are ecstatic, and they're certainly getting their money's worth. It never did rain last night, and there was hardly a cloud to be seen most of the day until some wispy clouds showed up just in time for sunset to create gigantic pink and orange brushstrokes across the sky.
Sales continue slow for the downtown merchants, but the waterfront restaurants were mostly busy throughout the day and into the evening. National tourists trod up and down our streets and beaches, but only the Oxxos appear to be doing a booming business.
The beach in the fishermen's area was full of mostly flamencos this morning. Everyone had them for sale, but there were hardly any buyers. This is increasingly the case as we have hundreds of fishermen bringing in more fish than there are local buyers for. So the prices are low for fish right now if you get down to the waterfront early in the morning. I have no idea what retailers are selling it for.
If you want to pamper yourself and enjoy some of the finest accommodations at Playa La Ropa, check out Villa Carolina. A small elegant contemporary B&B Mexican style villa hotel ideally situated less than 100 meters from the beach in Zihuatanejo. It features a private pool and luxurious suites with kitchenettes, A/C and internet.
