Ruido en la Cancha MuniZIHpal
Mexico lost two of its beloved talents today, the singer Paquita la del Barrio and the dancer/actress Tongolele. QEPD
Hardly any tourists around today other than extranjeros. A few nationals and extranjeros were on the downtown beach today, but for our evening stroll it seemed pretty quiet along the waterfront except for all the extranjeros at Daniel's and Elvira's.
It was a bit warmer Sunday evening, the temperature only got down to around 24°C last night, then today it got up to around 33°C, a little warmer than it has been recently. It looks like it will remain this way for the next several days, if the forecast is accurate. Usually the ocean water cools down in February, but it's still around 27.7°C, still warm enough for a hurricane, though I don't think we've ever had one at this time of year. We seem to be having an anomalous warm water event.
Some idiot set off one of the Marina's tsunami alarms at the Cancha Municipal this evening. It was LOUD, and apparently no one knew how to turn it off. It wailed for over an hour ruining the dining experience for a lot of restaurant-goers along the waterfront. Amazing this had never happened until now.
Our friend Lupita of the bakery Panadería El Buengusto has opened up on Calle Agustín Ramirez in one of the locales at Hotel Zihua Centro. They've only been there a few days, and they haven't changed the sign from the previous renter yet, but I'll get their details posted here again on my website as soon as I can. It's good to have their delicious panes available again!
A local boutique hotel that certainly is romantic is Tentaciones Hotel & Restaurante. An inviting place that will leave you wanting more of what they have to offer: a luxury bed and breakfast boutique hotel in a private villa overlooking La Ropa Beach with only 4 suites, a restaurant and a unique pool bar lounge offering a panoramic view of Zihuatanejo Bay and its beaches. They also have a two gourmet open-air restaurants that will transport you to a magical place full of temptations.
