Friday night was a tad warmer than previous nights, and this Saturday night is expected to be similar. The water temp remains around 27.5°C, on the warm side for this late in February. It was sunny with a breeze for much of the day, and the humidity is up there where I like it. We are so fortunate to enjoy such absolutely perfect weather day after day. Absolutely no snow in our forecast! But Popocatépetl and Ixtaccíhuatl as well as La Nevada de Toluca are covered in snow.

Speaking of Toluca, plans are being made for the construction of a new highway between Zihuatanejo and Toluca. Some folks are upset that it won't follow the old road, but it should be quicker and safer than the old road, which will also hopefully receive maintenance. One of the keys to Mexico's prosperity lies with improving transportation to its rural areas.

Visitors from north of the border continue filling our waterfront restaurants, shopping in our stores and using our local services. They don't spend as much as they used to back when my wife had her boutique and it was prosperous a dozen or so years ago, but business is still so much better now than the rest of the year when our northern visitors aren't here.
