ResuZIHtados en la Playa
We awoke to the sounds of Testigos de Jehová having a resurrection celebration in front of the museum this Sunday morning with loudspeakers and loud music. Glad that's over with for the year. But it was indeed a beautiful morning worth celebrating for the absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather. Groups of tourists with their coolers, some with tents, others with sunbrellas were out early claiming their spot and setting up for a long day at the beach. The water was surprisingly calm. No sign of the mar de fondo.
The momma whale and her baby were still in the bay in front of Las Gatas, and they put on quite a show today. The baby was jumping over and over, just like his momma taught him. A move that might help save his life if a predator comes after him.
Last night and tonight the downtown waterfront was the place to be and to be seen. So many beautiful families and couples in love milling about, people from all over Mexico, all smiling and happy to be here and enjoying themselves. Though I'm normally averse to crowds, my wonderful saint of a wife is my superpower, and with her by my side navigating through the crowds on our evening sojourn is an enjoyable experience. She truly makes me feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.
A lovely home for rent both for vacations and long term is Casa Scorpion. This furnished, two-bedroom home is available for short- and long-term rentals. It comes with everything you need to feel right at home including a hammock on the porch overlooking the bay. Located on the bay side of the small hill overlooking La Madera Beach. Warning: you may never want to leave.
