Around 300 fishermen set off this morning to try their hand in the annual Torneo de Pez Vela. It's a shame that at this date it continues being a kill tournament.

We enjoyed a perfect evening for sleeping and one of the last cool mornings we're likely to see. Any day now a puff of wind from the south will signal a change in the weather, and the humidity and temperatures will rise while the breeze drops. We've been lucky not to be overwhelmed with smoke this year because fortunately the fires have been few. But I still expect we'll see some in the coming weeks.

Anyone want to take a guess when the rains will start? I suspect they may start early this year, so I'll guess el 10 de mayo, Día de las Madres. That would be an interesting event for the day. ;-)

There's been a fairly decent turnout of visitors arriving. I ran into a large group this morning while walking my dog. They were wonderstruck when they saw our bay, so I'm guessing it was the first time here for all of them. The look on their faces was priceless!
