The ocean has calmed down quite a bit along our coast, but the rain never showed up in Zihuatanejo. Further down the coast and in the sierra there was rain this weekend, but as usual, we're sala'o. Maybe next weekend.

What did show up was the HEAT, and it's going to get even hotter by the middle of the week with temperatures possibly reaching near 40°C. Stay hydrated!

Many local businesses were disappointed by the low tourism turnout this weekend. The downtown beach and restaurants remained mostly empty all day. A stark contrast to last weekend. Slow season has arrived. It's also a time of increased crime, so stay vigilant.

My girls spoil me rotten. A mango licuado one morning, strawberry the next, fresh orange juice another morning. Bolillos con relleno, fresh fruits, pan dulce, or simple huevos con frijoles, salchicha y tortillas along with fresh local coffee often start the mornings in our home. No Pop-Tarts, donuts or Egg McMuffins for us! I love our local breakfasts. Just enough to fill us but not fatten us. ;-)

We had family from Mérida visit us this week, and we enjoyed a night out at Emilio's on the waterfront in Zihuatanejo. Everyone enjoyed their meal, over a dozen of us, especially all the pizzas we ordered, and the service was excellent. So I wanted to remind folks that the food there is quite good.

[image]For a peaceful and stress-free vacation getaway take a look at Casa Delfín Sonriente. A spacious and verdant 6-bedroom private beachfront villa with a pool on Playa Troncones that can be rented in its entirety or as individual suites and bungalows by the day or by the week. There's an outdoor BBQ area and areas for various outdoor activities. Any closer to paradise would be hard to get.
