After another refreshing night of intermittent light rains, we awoke to a light drizzle and cloudy skies this Monday morning in Zihuatanejo. It didn't seem to bother anyone. Friends and neighbors were still out doing their morning chores and getting their exercise. I was surprised how many fishermen had gone out. Usually the downtown beach is quite dead on Monday mornings. Como dice el dicho: los lunes ni las gallinas ponen.

Monday remained partly-to-mostly cloudy until mid-afternoon when it began to rain again, a moderate and steady rain that made for terrific siesta weather. It let up enough right after sunset for Lupita and me to stroll to the pier and back with an umbrella. Folks were fishing but not catching much at the pier, and we saw numerous fishing pangas getting ready to head out for an evening of fishing the sea mounts outside Zihuatanejo's bay with rain clouds still moving in from the southeast.

Many shops and restaurants downtown didn't even bother to open today. There just aren't enough visitors around to be worth it. Summer vacation is still 3 weeks away.

It still looks like this weekend could get quite interesting along the coast of Guerrero as another storm appears to be taking shape and aiming for our coast, looking like Sunday is when things could start getting serious. Let's hope to get lucky and that it blows past and stays far out to sea.
