The days keep repeating themselves. Refreshing nights for sleeping, mostly cloudy days with painted skies making for dramatic backdrops. Enjoy it while it lasts, La Canícula is just around the corner.;-)

No rain yet, but it looks like it could at any moment even though none is forecast. But things are definitely going to get more interesting this Sunday and Monday as a big storm moves close to the coastline, hopefully continuing its way northwestward. It'll likely bring some strong gusts of wind and some rain as well as big waves along the coast. One thing in our favor is that with all the recent cloud cover this past week the ocean has cooled a few degrees and probably doesn't pose the threat of fueling a fast-growing monster storm like we saw with Erick.

A very few visitors were in downtown Zihuatanejo this Wednesday, but noticeably more than yesterday. Still, the downtown beach was mostly empty today as was the Paseo del Pescador this evening. I saw a few fishermen preparing to go out for the evening, same as last evening. They have to take advantage of fishing when possible because of so many stormy days when they can't.

We were disappointed that the Danzón dancers didn't show up this Wednesday evening. Not sure why. Hopefully they'll be here next week.

[image]Whether you want to go sportfishing, sightseeing or snorkeling, my friend Capitán Ramón Olea of the panga Oleaje offers an affordable adventure waiting to be enjoyed. Ramón knows all the local fishing and snorkeling spots as well as what else is worth seeing. His 24' covered panga doesn't offer much luxury, but his expertise in fishing and his local knowledge of our coast and its marine life is second to none! Ramón practices "catch and release" fishing when possible.
