¡ZIH, Se Pudo!
The picture-postcard-perfect days keep rolling by, one after another. But with the arrival of the summer period we call La Canícula we can expect some of the hottest weather of the year, so we should appreciate our mild weather while it lasts. Today was as lovely as it gets except the ocean water contains runoff from the rains, so it's not as clear as it is during the dry season. But it's still quite beautiful, as our visitors enjoying themselves at our beaches can attest to.
¡Felicidades a la Selección Nacional! They played a tough game against the USA and won the Copa de Oro Championship 2-1 this Sunday evening. Mexicans needed this win as a huge morale boost, and it really lifted everyone's spirits. I expect many of us will be grinning about it for days.
My goodness, how I loved the mango licuado I had with my bolillo con relleno de barbacoa de puerco for breakfast! So many days that I feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.
Tourism remains a bit disappointing. Sales remain slow for local merchants and restaurants, though the beaches saw quite a few visitors today. This should change noticeably by the end of the coming week as schools let out and folks from inland towns and cities seek out our beaches.
If you enjoy spectacular views of Zihuatanejo's bay, then A View At The Sea may be the vacation lodging you're looking for. This is a beautiful 2-bedroom condo with a terrace at the "Casa Que Ve Al Mar" complex, and it features a fully equipped kitchen, internet access, cable & satellite TV, 24-hour security, and a pool and sundeck right out the front door.

El efecto mar de fondo aún estuvo presente en la bahía de Zihuatanejo la mañana de domingo.
