While Wednesday morning started off relatively comfortable, the sun quickly warmed up the moist humid air, and before we knew it 33°C felt like 40°C with no noticeable breeze. ¡Uff! Another day of slowly melting like R. Crumb's "Stoned Agin" cartoon. ;-)

As you can see in today's photo below, the municipal government apparently sort of admitted a mistake (a first!) and removed two of the three bicycle photo props in front of the amate tree at Plaza del Artista after the blowback from a widely circulated video showing a sea turtle struggling UNDER BRIGHT LIGHTS and bouncing off the bicycle photo props like a pinball in slow motion before trying to dig a nest next to a palm tree, a nest she eventually gave up on due to the tree's roots. It was a sad thing to watch, and dozens of visitors also witnessed it, questioning why the photo props and lights were on the beach during peak turtle nesting season. If only they'd get rid of the lights, too. I'll keep reminding them. B-)

For all the visitors here, business appeared slow again for many downtown merchants this Wednesday. Even the waterfront restaurants barely had any customers this evening just after sunset, which is a shame because most of them serve fantastic local dishes (shrimp is NOT a local dish). Lots of people were still at the beach and "cooling off" in the 31°C water.

Fishermen were bringing in a couple of large yellowfin tuna as we strolled past Casa Marina this evening. Good eating!
